MT II and MAir are both transparent LED screen options for performance stages. Both support curved and 90° corner layouts. If they can create similar stage shapes, what actually sets them apart, and how should a production choose between them?
This article compares their specifications and shows how cabinet formats, display options, and touring features affect stage planning. It then gives a selection order for a venue or tour.

● MT II: Two cabinet sizes suit changing layouts. Designed for indoor and outdoor staging, it can switch between transparent and solid modes when equipped with the optional shutter system.
● MAir: Its 1 × 1 m cabinets suit large outdoor touring stages. Mesh and solid versions are selected separately.
Among YES TECH’s rental and staging displays, MT II and MAir differ in cabinet format, pitch, weight, and visual options. The table brings those figures together to help match a rental LED screen to the stage brief.

MT II is designed for indoor and outdoor rental staging, while MAir is geared toward large outdoor touring stages. The comparisons below show how each series handles screen layout, show visuals, and stage installation.
● MT II: Two cabinet sizes, 1,000 × 500 mm and 500 × 500 mm, allow a backdrop to be resized or extended with narrower side sections. For transparent LED screen rental across venues, its large-handle quick locks and beam shared by hanging and stacking help crews adapt to different mounting plans.
● MAir: Each 1,000 × 1,000 mm cabinet covers the face area of two 1,000 × 500 mm MT II cabinets. A rectangular transparent LED wall can therefore use fewer cabinets. An available six-in-one dolly system groups cabinets for transport and storage between large outdoor shows.
● MT II: At ≥50% transparency, the screen keeps lighting and scenery behind it visible. With its optional shutter system, the same screen can switch between transparent and solid modes. This supports performances that change the backdrop’s appearance between segments.
● MAir: MAir’s mesh cabinets form a transparent LED wall that keeps lighting and scenery behind it visible. The P7.81 configuration offers up to 47% transparency. The separately offered solid version provides a full image surface. These are distinct cabinet versions, so the screen does not switch between them during a performance.
● MT II — Its pixel pitch is 3.9 mm horizontally and 7.8 mm vertically, with brightness of 4,000–4,500 nits. For detailed graphics on an MT II transparent LED screen, both pitch measurements matter at nearby seats and camera positions.
● MAir — Mesh comes in P5.95 and P7.81, while solid is P5.95. Both versions offer 3,500–4,000 nit and 4,500–5,000 nit brightness configurations. Outdoor productions can compare content from representative seats under show lighting before settling on a configuration.
● MT II — Rated IP65 and suitable for indoor and outdoor use, MT II supports hanging heights up to 20 m. One MT II rental LED screen package can therefore serve tour dates in both venue types, provided each installation is engineered for its site.
● MAir — MAir’s metal support rods and wind-resistant frame provide a specified hanging height of up to 25 m and wind resistance of up to 20 m/s. These figures help outdoor touring teams plan large suspended transparent LED screen; allowable loads and weather limits still require a venue-specific engineering review.
● MT II — It supports ±15° curves, 90° corners, and staggered splicing. Combined with two cabinet sizes, these connections let a tour build curved wings or offset sections around a main screen.
● MAir — It also supports ±15° curves and 90° corners, with staggered half-cabinet layouts. Those connections extend curved or stepped designs across a larger 1 × 1 m cabinet grid for outdoor stage backdrops.
Answer three questions before specifying a rental LED screen. The table then shows which series to evaluate first for common stage briefs.
Start with display area and venue mix. Changing stage widths or indoor dates point toward MT II; a broad outdoor backdrop points toward MAir. Work out the cabinet grid after defining the screen footprint.
Decide whether the transparent LED screen must change appearance during the performance or keep a fixed look. A live change favors MT II with its optional shutter; a fixed look lets planners compare MAir's separate mesh and solid versions.
Compare mounting, transport, and outdoor constraints at each stop. The preferred series must work across the full tour, with published hanging and wind figures assessed as part of the venue's support plan.

No, based on the published mesh cabinet weights for the same nominal screen area. Two 1,000 × 500 mm MT II mesh cabinets total 15.8 kg per nominal square metre; one 1,000 × 1,000 mm MAir mesh cabinet weighs 19 kg.
MT II switches modes with its optional shutter system. MAir offers separately specified mesh and solid versions.
Yes. MT II is specified for indoor and outdoor use; MAir is specified for outdoor use. Assess the complete outdoor transparent LED screen installation, including support, suspension, weather plans, and site requirements.
Yes. Both support ±15° curves and 90° corners. MT II supports staggered splicing; MAir supports staggered half-cabinet layouts..
MT II suits transparent LED screen rental across changing stages or shows requiring both transparent and solid visuals. MAir suits large outdoor touring backdrops.
If the choice remains unclear, share your stage dimensions, visual plan, and venue conditions with YES TECH. We can recommend a suitable transparent LED screen configuration for your project.
