On July 24, 2026, Kingsport Fun Fest, a long-running community festival in Northeast Tennessee, turned into an evening of live rock at J. Fred Johnson Stadium, where Switchfoot opened for Daughtry, bringing a distinctly rock-driven atmosphere to one of the festival’s major concert nights.

The production followed a familiar festival format: an outdoor venue, a full concert lineup, and a stage that needed to bring together video, lighting, and live performance without allowing any one element to dominate the overall picture.
For the Night of Rock, Express AV deployed three YES TECH LED video walls across the stage. Two MG video walls were positioned on either side for live content, while the center position called for a display that could carry the main video content without making the stage feel overly enclosed. For a rock show built around fast transitions and a constantly changing stage atmosphere, the center screen also needed to match the production's pace without adding complexity to the setup. That made the MAir P5.9 a natural fit for the role, combining 47% transparency with a design focused on efficient handling and installation.
The same priorities carried through to the physical setup. MAir features a carbon fiber cabinet in a lightweight 1 × 1 m format, combining reduced cabinet weight with the structural strength required for large-format live-event applications. Its design supports faster handling and installation, with the cabinet 23.2% lighter and installation taking up to 40% less time than conventional solutions. For a festival rock production, where multiple technical crews are working against the clock before the first note, those details can have a direct impact on how smoothly the stage comes together.
That practical aspect was reflected in feedback from Express AV after the installation:
“Everyone has been super happy with the product so far. Super easy to assemble and not much time.”
For a live production team, direct feedback from the installation floor can be more telling than a list of specifications. The more interesting takeaway from Kingsport Fun Fest is not the introduction of a new stage format, but how a familiar three-screen layout was configured to give the audience a strong visual experience while capturing the energy of a live rock show and keeping the production practical for the AV team.
