Aug. 22–23, 2026, Kharkhorum Art & Visual Festival returned for its fourth chapter, TIME, moving from its previous arena format to a much larger outdoor stadium setting—a transition the organizers described as “From arena to stadium.” The new production centered on a 300-meter-long stage and a 360° visual concept, with elements of history and cultural heritage woven into its contemporary visual language. To bring that concept to the larger setting, YES TECH supplied nearly 2,000 m² of MT II transparent LED, creating a continuous visual environment around the audience.

A 300m Panoramic Stage
The 300-meter-long main stage was described in pre-event coverage as “expected to be the largest festival stage ever built in Asia.” At this scale, the visual system also had to move beyond a conventional main-screen setup. To fill the larger stadium environment and create a more immersive experience, the stage was built around 13 MT II transparent LED video walls, rather than relying on a single standardized LED structure.
The setup combined one curved central screen (11m high), two irregularly shaped main side screens, and 10 side and rear screens, with the curved central screen establishing the main visual focus while the irregular side screens extended the stage outward, creating a visual field that surrounded the audience.
The Challenge
The Scale & The Power: The first challenge was the sheer scale of the installation. Nearly 2,000 m² of LED displays had to be deployed across 13 video walls, with installation starting on August 14 and completed by August 18—just five days for a large-scale outdoor visual system. Such a large display area also meant significant power requirements, making efficient installation, power distribution, and stable operation essential to keeping the project on schedule.
The Rain & Wind: The second challenge came from the outdoor environment. The open grassland site placed strict demands on the LED displays, as changing weather conditions, sudden gusts, and unexpected rainfall could affect both stage safety and visual performance. With a large LED structure going up in an open-air environment, the team had to keep the installation moving while ensuring the displays remained stable once the festival was underway.
The choice of MT II addressed both challenges. Its efficient combination of quick locks and lightweight cabinet handles streamlined installation, enabling completion in just five days, while its lower power consumption reduced overall demand on the power generators. As the project director noted, “We used nearly 2,000 m² of MT II LED, with power consumption per square meter significantly lower than that of a conventional LED screen.” In these outdoor conditions, MT II’s blow-through design, with 50% transparency, helps reduce wind load and keep the display stable.
“The Kharkhorum Festival is now going outdoors, so we have to calculate the rain and everything. And the MT II transparent screen, for me, has around 50% transparency to let wind pass through, so it's better than a regular screen,” the project director added.
With more than 10 patents and extensive experience with major events worldwide, YES TECH’s MT II series has already proven itself in demanding outdoor productions. Kharkhorum was not the first time the MT series had been put to the test. At the six-week DIFF Festival, the transparent LED displays were deployed on a riverside stage exposed to rain, salt spray, and prolonged sunlight, yet maintained stable and reliable performance throughout the event.
Beyond the Hardware
For a production of this size, the hardware was only part of the job. YES TECH’s support team arrived around two weeks before the event and remained on site through the installation and final preparations, providing technical support and responding quickly to issues as they arose. Backed by 24/7 support, YES TECH ensured smooth operation throughout the event, with the displays delivering reliable, fault-free performance throughout the festival.
“Whenever the customer needed support, we responded quickly and helped deal with whatever came up on site,” said Alex from YES TECH’s After-Sales Department.
With 25 years of experience in rental and staging, YES TECH knows that a successful stage is about more than the screen itself. It is about making sure the system works as planned, remains reliable on site, and delivers confidence in the final result. The Kharkhorum project brought that approach to life, turning a complex outdoor LED setup into a 360°visual experience built around the audience. And as YES TECH moves forward, the goal remains the same: reliable products, dependable support, and displays that help bring every stage to life.
