Transparent LED displays are becoming increasingly popular among AV professionals for live events, expanding beyond their more established use in commercial applications. But live event applications place very different demands on a transparent LED wall. Large-scale stages and long operating hours can put significant demands on both the display and production crew. Insufficient transparency can weaken the sense of depth on stage, color shifts can compromise visual quality, and cumbersome installation can put unnecessary pressure on production crews.
With 25 years of experience in rental and staging, YES TECH understands these demands firsthand. That experience shaped the development of MAir—a transparent LED solution built to address the practical challenges of live events, combining high transparency, stable image performance, and a touring-focused design for faster, more efficient installation and deployment.
1. 47% Transparency: Preserve Visual Depth Outdoors
Transparency is what sets transparent LED displays apart. But the challenge is balancing high transparency with the brightness required for outdoor environments. With a 7.8mm pixel pitch, the MAir Series delivers up to 47% transparency, while maintaining a brightness of 3,500–5,000 nits at white balance in bright outdoor conditions. The result is clear, vibrant imagery without losing the sense of depth behind the screen. Its folding handles also help minimize visual obstruction, keeping the stage design open and unobstructed.
2. 20 m/s Wind Resistance: Built for Outdoor Reliability
The open mesh design gives transparent LED displays a natural advantage outdoors by allowing air to pass through the screen. But transparency does not automatically mean blow-through performance. A screen may appear highly transparent, yet its components and frame structure still affect how air flows through the display. In other words, visual transparency tells you how much of the background you can see—not how easily air can pass through the entire screen structure.
That’s why MAir’s outdoor reliability is backed by professional engineering testing, not appearance alone. Evaluated by Indurium Engineering in Belgium, the MAir Series can withstand wind speeds of up to 20 m/s, which corresponds to Beaufort Force 8, thanks to its optimized structural design and reinforced airframe. At this wind speed, outdoor conditions can become hazardous, making reliable wind performance critical for large-scale events.
At Rock in Rio Lisboa 2026, PIXEL LIGHT – Audiovisuais deployed MAir P7.8 as the main visual system for the stage at one of Europe’s major music festivals. With dozens of artists taking the stage and more than 100,000 people in attendance, the display remained stable throughout the event’s high-intensity schedule. PIXEL LIGHT was particularly impressed by its consistent color performance and overall system reliability, highlighting MAir P7.8’s ability to maintain stable performance throughout long hours of demanding use.
3. 40% Faster Installation: Built for Touring Efficiency
“Everyone has been super happy with the product so far. It’s super easy to assemble and doesn’t take much time.”
This was the feedback from the production team at Kingsport Fun Fest 2026, now in its 46th edition. The event featured a classic touring-style stage design: two side screens displayed live performance content, while the central LED screen served as the main visual backdrop. While the stage design itself was straightforward, installation efficiency was critical. For a 200 m² display, the same crew could complete the installation in 6 hours with MAir, compared with 10 hours using a conventional solution—a 40% reduction in installation time.
Three design features help make this faster workflow possible: MAir Triple Edge.
First, its carbon-fiber one-piece frame keeps the cabinets lightweight, making them easier to lift, carry, and position on site. Second, the quick-lock system simplifies cabinet connection, allowing crews to assemble the display with fewer steps and less manual work. Third, the 6-in-1 integrated transport system streamlines transportation and dismantling, making it easier to move, redeploy, and prepare the display for its next production. In other words, MAir considers the demands of touring from end to end, optimizing every step of the workflow to help crews work faster and keep the production moving.
