This is where carbon fiber offers a compelling material solution. Compared with conventional materials such as aluminum and magnesium alloys, carbon fiber composites combine low density, high specific strength, and good dimensional stability.

What Is Carbon Fiber?

Carbon fiber is a high-strength, high-modulus fiber containing more than 90% carbon. It is commonly combined with a matrix material such as resin to form high-performance composites. Its low density and high tensile strength allow structures to achieve a high strength-to-weight ratio, which is one reason carbon fiber is widely used in demanding industries such as aerospace.

Carbon fiber also has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion, approximately -0.5 to -1.6 × 10⁻⁶/K, helping limit dimensional changes as temperature changes. Carbon fiber composites also offer good resistance to temperature extremes, wear, and corrosion, with stable performance from -55°C to 120°C.

Each MAir cabinet weighs just 19 kg. Compared with conventional transparent LED cabinets, MAir reduces weight per square meter by approximately 23.2%. For rental crews, the benefit is straightforward: less weight to move, load, install, and rig. Strong and More Durable

MAir delivers a maximum tensile load of up to 51 kN and supports rigging heights of up to 25 meters, providing the load-bearing capacity needed for large-scale outdoor installations. It is also built for the realities of rental operations. During a two-week tour across seven cities in Spain, MAir underwent multiple venue changes and repeated installation and dismantling.

Impact & Deformation Resistance

High strength at low weight gives the frame a strong combination of rigidity and resilience. This helps it withstand mechanical loads during handling and operation while limiting unwanted deformation. For large LED walls, dimensional stability matters: cabinets that maintain their geometry are easier to align and keep visually consistent across the full display.

High Precision

The one-piece frame minimizes joints and assembly interfaces, helping maintain consistent cabinet dimensions and tight assembly tolerances. This makes multi-cabinet alignment more straightforward and helps achieve a flat screen surface with continuous visuals.

Weather-Resistant

For outdoor rental applications, material performance is only part of the equation. MAir features IP65 protection and an outdoor wind-bracing frame, helping it withstand strong winds, heavy rain, and salt spray. The display has been used for large outdoor productions including Rock in Rio Lisbon, Albufeira Carpe Nox 2026, and Kingsport Funfest 2026.
